Rigging Up Micro$oft Internet Explorer
Mail filters in IE
are setup from the Mail/Inbox Assistant menu.
It appears that Microsoft
haven't seen fit to include "not" or "or" in their rule syntax in Explorer
so if you want to go this way
you have to instead make a host of rules
matching the nonspam
(i.e. what you actually don't want to refile!)
Even better, the filing target for a rule doesn't include the inbox
as an option
so you have to make a NonSpam folder,
file all the interesting mail there,
allow the spam to fall into the inbox,
then always read from "NonSpam" instead of "Inbox".
Ok, the instructions:
- Make a new folder called "NonSpam".
- Go to Mail/Inbox Assistant and choose "New".
- Construct a filter saying:
To: [address]
...
Move to [NonSpam]
and a matching filter:
Cc: [address]
...
Move to [NonSpam]
for each address.
This image
shows a rule set up for To: half of the pair
for the cs@zip.com.au address.
Notice that the Move to: still needs to be set to "NonSpam".
