Help please. We are starting to get a collision barrier known as Bryson Rope installed on divided roads here in Australia and we are very concerned about the (lack of) safety for motorcyclists who might collide with these structures. The Bryson rope is high tension steel cables strung at about 18 and 24 inches above the ground between steel H-beam posts spaced about 10 feet apart. It seems to us riders that these barriers which are designed to catch cars and stop-head on and same-direction collisions will prove absolutely lethal to motorcyclists and we are trying to find out if there is any information or statistics on this from elsewhere in the world. We are hoping to convince the governmentthat they must remove these barriers or they will be liable to hugeliability suit payouts due to criminal negligence in allowing such a dangerous structure to motorcyclists to be built. We already have admission that motorcyclists were not thought of at all when the decision to use Bryson Rope was taken. Your assistance in this matter would be invaluable. Best Regards, Mark Hall
