Both Sport Schuster and Sport Scheck (spelling?) just south of Marienlatz have areas devoted to climbing. They both do seem to specialise in pretty coloured carabiners and "via ferrata" kits, rather than equipment chosen for its strength or utility. sort Sheck is worth a visit if only to see the Messner designed climbing wall running up the central stairwell. I don't know about the rules for climbing it- i've never seen it busy, but maybe someone could solo up without being caught. If you actually want climbing/mountaineering/ ski mountaineering kit, head to "Kletter und Hoch Touren am Ecke". It's where I go when I'm in town. -Steve
